Friday!

How does one react to free time? One types in her blog. Even though one doesn't really have anything useful to say. It's been a strange week. We talked the Mad Russian out of having class last night ... That was pretty cool. Certainly didn't expect it to work. Add to that the other things you heard about yesterday and I'm just lost. Tonight, it's out to Storm to do a little cooking, cleaning, and rent-paying. Or grocery-acquiring, as the case may be. Tomorrow, homework, probably. And Sunday. Then ... Well, then next week starts, and that will likely be even weirder than this week, what with the disappearing ChE department. Craziness. For now, it's off to class to learn some economics and goof around with the Funky Monkey Originator. Yeah, you know who you are. Oh, and for those of you reading, may I suggest you give me a topic or two? Mention it and I'll write about it (keep in mind, this is a family-friendly blog). Have a good day, all! PS -- Upda

Generally Speaking

Colin Firth. It's official. I'm in love with Colin Firth. Actually, I just watched "Bridget Jones' Diary" and was reminded of the crush I developed on him this past summer, when I saw "Pride & Prejudice" for the first time. Yummo. Forgetting for a moment that he's my mother's age, let me lay out a few things: - He's gorgeous. - He's got that wonderful accent, which just adds to the gorgeousness. - The characters he plays are the kind of guy that every girl daydreams about at some point. Some of us are even lucky enough to find them. That has very little to do with real life. In the real life sector, I'm still recovering from one extremely backwards day. Yesterday was odd all around, starting with the fact that Colt left and ending with my attendance at a volleyball game. (That's only happened once before. I thought there were more, but memories only exist of one other occurrence.) Add to that the announcement that the entire c

Tales From The Dungeon

Here I sit, pumped full of Pepsi and Earl Grey and almost jittery with caffeinated exhaustion. My nourishment tonight has been provided by Subway, Yoplait, Tostitos, and Chewy Gobstoppers. And dangnabbit, I'm ready to go home. Stinking twelve hour tests ... A few observations: -There are two pop machines and a vending machine on the second floor of McLaury. I did not know that. Come to think of it, I didn't really have a reason to know that. Had I given it more than three seconds of thought, I might have guessed. -They do not lock the bathrooms at night, despite the locks on the doors. Due to stated caffeine intake, I was concerned about this one. -The security guy comes around about every three hours to make sure everything's kosher. At 1:30 in the morning, that's freaky. -A person can run the entire hallspace of McClaury in just over a minute, provided you slow down to take the stairs. Could be a lot faster without that. Or a lot longer if you're knocked unconscio

A Week

I've started and deleted seven posts in the last eleven days. I'm not sure why none of them were keepers, but somehow I couldn't let the silence last any longer. Okay, okay, so I'm at work again and I don't have anything better to do for the next seventeen minutes. Happy? In any case, it's been one of Those Weeks. The kind of Week where Things keep happening -- mundane Things, random Things, exciting Things, stressful Things -- and somehow you never manage to catch your breath and feel normal. The kind of Week where you wonder where the heck reality went and why she refuses to return. (I'm not sure why reality just became a woman, but there you have it.) The kind of Week where ... oh, you get the idea. I've had that Week. My last attempt ended up being about five pages long, so we'll see if I can abbreviate it. Here goes. Sunday: Aaron was here. On a scale of one to ten, I was at eleven. Monday: Normal school day. Dinner night with the girls. Nin

Awesome weekend. Desperately needed. Not much sleep last night. Pondering the next two years of my life. Looks like I'll be here through next December. Had something truly philosophical to say. Forgot it while typing a memo. Still didn't remember it during astronomy. Wonder how much longer I can type in phrases. Met Ashli's cousin last night. Kind of strange, really. The whole situation -- not her. Spent six hours on the computer after spending five in a car. Not fun. Thinking of making lasagna this weekend. Already miss my mom's cooking. Realized I hadn't said much on my blog recently. Hope y'all enjoyed the python picture. Thought it was gross but cool. Can't seem to think in a straight line. Just typed "mind" instead of "line." Strange slip. Attaching a picture from Russia. Maybe I should watch a movie. Haven't seen "Boondock Saints" in awhile. Haven't watched the rest of Bri's movie yet, either. Could actually ha

Okay, I don't have time to say much, but I wanted to direct y'all to this picture . I was pretty grossed out. Enjoy.

Thief

It's quiet. Too quiet. Thank goodness I stole Ashli's headphones. I've been hanging out in this computer lab for the better part of three hours and I have yet to have to share the space with anyone else. Don't get me wrong; this doesn't bother me. Quite the contrary -- it's easier to be productive when there are no interruptions. (Duh.) Besides that, I feel less foolish when I'm singing along with my various CDs when no one else is in here (with the added bonus of not getting egged). Unfortunately, this productivity comes with a price -- I'm missing hiking with the girls right now, which sucks largely because I've been looking forward to the trip since we decided to do it three (three?) weeks ago. Anyway, I've been working on this progress report for work for the better part of the weekend, and I'm losing my mind. So much reading, so much typing, and all of it so dry ... Sheesh. Forget television. Engineering is what's robbing me of cre
